Weebly User Reviews and Opinions
Here you can read the opinions of real users. Weebly clients share their experiences with the website builder completely independently. Our Weebly Review doesn’t have any influence here. All the reviews are written by users that spent a longer time with the product. That makes them special.

The good, the bad, and the seemingly impossible
Tom Turner
Following advice from a source I can’t remember, I set up a gsuite account and purchased a domain name through enom. I got off to a good start, and created some galleries of my artworks. When I decided to transfer my domain name to Weebly and ditch gsuite, I ran into an inpenetrable wall regarding transferring my email address. I have given up.
Pros
- Pricing
- Image galleries
Cons
- Lack of customisability to fine tune
- Can't edit email address
- Difficult to get timely personal support

Novice to not so novice
Lana
I have only dealt with cheaper domains with regards to help service and they where brilliant.
NOt sure what you would call the site I have built. I do not sell on it. I just adevetise my services and show my location and cridentials on it.
Some of the interfa.ce was confusing especialy to start with.
OnceI found a template that worked for me (I tried a few) I found it easier.
I talked to a couple of people and was told to go with someone based in Australia like weebly and compaired to an overseas based place. Cheaper domains told me that would be better as google would be faster for me in australia if I bought and built in Australia.
I wish I understood the pricing better.
Pros
- easy to drag and drop from the menu once you know what you are doing.
Cons
- I got the free web builder first, then upgraded to a $84 site so I did not have to rush building it. Once I realised what extra featchers I needed I decided to upgrade again. The plan I wanted was a $120 plan. YOu would thing that the $84 would come off the $120 BUT NO. I had to buy the upgrade from weebly so I had to pay in ful. The $84 plan was from cheaper Domains who I bought my website name from. This was a confusong process.

Weebly - still my chosen platform
Jacqueline
I tried Weebly, Wix, Fouresquare and Yola, as well as some of the platforms available in South Africa. Weebly was the easiest to master and the most cost effective in the end. I also liked the fact that you can register 10 free websites with them, as well as the website copy feature, as it allowed me to try out different looks, formats, templates, colours, without losing my original product.
The customer support is difficult, most probably because we are awake when they are asleep and vice versa. It does take ages to actually get an email with a request to them, as they keep on referring you to existing Q&A articles – that I found extremely annoying and time-consuming – their response though is fairly quick and useful when you do get an email through.
I think their website templates are more limited if compared to Wix, but they are more cost effective – especially taking our currencies exchange rate into consideration.
I really, really like their education site – use it with my learners all the time.
Pros
- Easy to use
- Lots of supporting videos
- Cost is comparative - not the cheapest
Cons
- Difficult to get support
- Limited templates
- Their pricing structure also shot up

Weebly for people outside America
Niketa Fazal (http://www.niketafazal.com)
It’s very easy to use and I really liked the customizable features for designing so I didn’t feel like I was stuck in a template. The publishing feature is also very good in that changes are instantly reflected on the website itself and you don’t have to keep saving your work.
It’s not optimized for people living outside the Us. For an artist in Kenya I find that they don’t offer a trusted payment system so the site is useless as an online shop. And the own name email address is also an opt-in at a higher plan which was inconvenient as my emails were already working before I pointed my domain to Weebly. The SEO and Email marketing is also optional at a much higher and that can be too expensive for a starter business or artist.
Comment from Inka, WebsiteToolTester:
Thanks for your review! Weebly actually has several in-built features for SEO that are free – more information is available here if you’d like to check them out.
Pros
- Ease of use
- Customizable templates
Cons
- Online shop feature not worldwide
- Many necessary features at a prohibitive extra cost

Love Weebly for small business handmade items
S Rynberk
I researched for months on which website builder to use and stumbled on tooltester.com while watching youtube videos. The information on this site was so extremely helpful! I have a small handmade business and don’t have a lot of time to spend learning how to set up a website, so I was apprehensive about how to get it done.
Right now I have it set up as a place for customers to see all that I have to offer and they can place an order through “contact forms.” However, in the future, I plan to turn it into a store with carts and check out and with Weebly I have the ability to do this.
Thank you tooltester.com for all your help and answering my personal questions so quickly through email before I made the plunge to set up my first website!
Pros
- super easy to use
- great price for small business owners
Cons
- None

Weebly
Amanda
We’ve used Weebly to build an e-Commerce online clothing store. Though the process was pretty painless, there needs to be a better way to upload and input large swathes of Data with less fuss and time consuming editing, taking into consideration that most people using a web builder are not IT experts!
We also have two unresolved issues with two options we desperately require on our site that should be available as standard on any website:
1. A facility to have customers “Click a box” that confirms they have seen and accept our Terms & Conditions of Sales etc.
2. A Payment Option that allows us to invoice and supply a customer with banking details to either EFT or deposit directly into our account (there are still and unbelievable amount of people that don’t have Credit Cards and PayPal). This is a massive issue for us, had we been aware of this limitation, we would have chosen a different Web Builder that could offer this to us.
Pros
- Great Templates and designs
- Easy to learn, navigate and use
- Great support, prompt, helpful and friendly
- Speed
Cons
- Terms & Conditions checkout confirmation
- Changing layout and fonts limited
- Limited offline payment options
- Support not always available

Works even for people who are not into digital
Bart Barmentlo
I build a website for holiday rentals. With no experience at all and a profound dislike for anything digital I choose Weebly based on the reviews from WebsiteToolTester. After some playing around and looking at the tutorials you quickly find yourself confidently changing layouts, designs, backgrounds, etc.
It is not very flexible, that’s both a PRO and a CON, it definitely helps to ensure that your website stays clean and legible.
The support tool is very adequate, even though you can’t speak to someone. Not even if you are willing to pay!! After starting up with a free domain name I bought at Weebly, I had issues with Google and Microsoft as their search engines judges my site un-safe. After some correspondence with them that was corrected. The fact that in the beginning search engines gives a non-secure link warning to visitors because it lacks the ‘s’ in https is unacceptable!
The SEO function is relatively weak, as is the support function in that area.
Josep’s comment from WebsiteToolTester
Weebly reserves the https for the Business plan. However, we believe that Weebly’s SEO is pretty good. For more information and a (SEO) comparison with other providers, please check this article.
Pros
- Simplicity of use
- Good tutorials
Cons
- It's not a secure link website; SEO

Clearwater Beach Condo Rental website
Steve Amitrano
Easy to build through Weebly and support is decent. My site was designed to advertise my vacation condo in Clearwater Beach Florida and the site looks nice. Editing is simple but after 3 months, I have not received a single inquiry and my site seems difficult to find in search engines. So far, disappointed with anticipated results.
Pros
- Ease of use, design, price
Cons
- Weak exposure, lack of SEO enrichment

Video Background Limitations
Linda Johnson
There are some nice new responsive themes but all the old ones seem to be gone. The new ones look pretty much like each other so not much variety. I used the video background on a new site which looks great on the desktop but friends reported it couldn’t be viewed on ipads and android phones etc. It would be good to be able to have an alternate static image for times when the video won’t play. All in all it’s a very easy web builder to use and I’ve done 3 sites in it this week for clients who may want to do their own updates down the track.
Comment from Josep, WebsiteTooltester:
Old themes can be accessed from the theme selection page, you just need to click on “Show Old Themes”.
Comment from Weebly’s support about background videos:
“Our video headers are not designed to display as video on mobile sites. They will display on your live desktop site, but will not animate when accessed from a mobile device.”
Pros
- New responsive themes
- Clients can update themselves easily
Cons
- Lack of variety in themes - all looked similar
- Limitations of the video background feature

Great for amateurs and small start ups
Kerrin
I built a website for my counseling business. I have had experience with WordPress and found Weebly easier to use. Building was easy and the basic layouts and design pages were user friendly. I purchased my domain from them also which was handy, one less company to deal with. Prices were reasonable which is handy for a small start up like mine. A more in depth tutorial would be nice but overall I would probably use Weebly again.
Pros
- Nice clean design options
- Price reasonable for small start up
- Neat and helpful home page
- Easy to use
Cons
- Blog page not easy to build
- No undo button when making a change to view options

Weebly on eHost
Mark
I had previously used a PC based web site builder for my private web presence with Cpanel upload, but decided to try a different tactic when my hosting went down again. This was due in part to cost restraints. I did like the Weebly feeling for the build but went with Ehost due to costs, but it still gave me a Weebly interface.
Not sure if this was the right choice as the customer support was very hard to deal with due to the online chat facility and me being a slow typist. I kept getting asked if I was still there even though I was typing away trying to explain what I needed. It was a pain that I could not take my email accross with the domain name (that’s life).
As far as the interface for the build it was good for the normal web page, but became a bit hard when setting it up for a mobile responsive page, but it was my first attempt in this area. Overall it was a good experience and time and I will tell if I stick with it.
Comment from WebsiteToolTester: We always recommend to stick with the original Weebly for the best support and latest updates.
Pros
- the ease of use with drag and drop and the ability to see it in a mobile setting
Cons
- Support was conflicting. Not able to do some things that you could with a Cpanel.

Weebly Rocks!
Victoria
I love Weebly! My website was in WordPress and I did not know how to use it at all. Hired someone to set it up, and if I wanted to change my phone number or make any other little change, I had to get someone to do it for me. I was skeptical that I could build a website but I was thrilled to find that Weebly is SO EASY! And the customer service is amazing. I couldn’t be happier!
Victoria
Pros
- EASY!!! And GREAT customer service!
Cons
- Nothing. Weebly Rocks!

Why I Chose Weebly over Squarespace
Gary Janssen
I wanted to learn how to build a web site without having to spend a lot of money. I narrowed the field down to Weebly and Squarespace, largely due to reviews and comments that I found on WebSiteToolTester.com.
I signed up for trial offers on both sites. Weebly offers two free sites while Squarespace offers a 30 day trial. I spent my time just playing around by changing themes, placing elements, adding titles, text ad photos etc. After playing around with both I ended up choosing Weebly for the following reasons:
1) Weebly offers two free sites. You don’t get all the tools with the free sites but it is enough to get me started
2) Weebly’s overall pricing for their paid versions is more competitive
3) I found the Weebly interface more intuitive and easier to use
4) I use Safari as my primary browser. Weebly works in Safari (with Flash installed), Squarespace did not
5) Squarespace had issues with freezing and crashing on my computer. I couldn’t move pages around in the navigation and on several occasions it crashed while importing images
6) Squarespace only has one sub-navigation level while Weebly’s seems infinite.
I ended up creating a test site using Weebly just to play around and see what I could do. I created a personal blog at http://mynamewasricky.weebly.com. I contacted support twice and received very timely response. I plan on creating another site that I can monetize and make a little extra income. I’m just trying to narrow down my ideas on what the topic will be.
I highly recommend Weebly for any new user. They continue to add features that I think will also appeal to users at all levels. I’m very impressed with their product. Thanks Weebly.
Pros
- Pricing
- Easy to use
- Responsive themes
- 2 free sites
- Support has been very good
Cons
- No email function. Need to sign up for Google Apps
- Limited web site statistics

Weebly wonderful? Well pretty good actually!
Evolutionary Connections
I’ve never had my own site before and at first thought I might need to pay someone to set it up for me. But then I’m someone prone to change her mind, to want to tweak bits and “evolve”. I was worried that about the costs of changes and updates and I witnessed the mess left by a designer using WordPress who left a website so full of additions and bugs it was a nightmare to even try to sort out.
I realised in my case I needed something pretty straight forward and the time consuming bit was likely to be generating the content….and I needed to do this myself anyway. I opted for this based on price, ease of use, reputation and support available if I needed it. I like it, it suits me to add on and develop pages as I go along. It’s fairly intuitive, there are videos and tips but I found playing about a bit was a good way to find my way around.I’m pleased with my site and I think I’ve also learned a lot too.
Pros
- ease of use
- price
- support availability
- security
- tenure
Cons
- email is extra and haven't bought this

Weebly, easy as they say it is.
Susie brandes
I heard and read a lot about Weebly and how easy it is to build your own site. As a newbie, it was a little daunting at first, but once I was able to figure out how to navigate, I felt in control of my project and I was up and running in no time. Support was fast and very helpful.
Pros
- Free trial period
- Drag and drop
Cons
- Would have been nice to have a template more conducive to artist's site

Weebly- good enough
Ken
After a lot of investigation and sampling, I chose Weebly to build a simple site with a few pages. I moved from GoDaddy because their pricing was on an upward spiral and they were often a little hard to communicate with.
Weebly satisfies my basic needs, despite a fairly limited selection of templates and self-service help (FAQs, tutorial videos, etc). The pricing is very fair and my experiences with customer service/ tech support has been fine. I was disappointed that there wasn’t a free email account in the basic packages, but so far that has been a work-around and not a deal-breaker. All in all, I’m happy with my choice of Weebly.
Pros
- Pricing
- Ease of use
- Support
Cons
- Limited features
- Limited training / faqs

Easy and Beautiful
Celene
After reviewing all of the website builders here and on other review sites, I decided to use Weebly and have been very pleased. I recommend that anyone interested in building a site plan ahead and have all of the text, photos, sequence, etc. prepared before starting. I am very pleased with the website I created and received a lot of positive feedback about it.
Pros
- Ease of use
- Pricing
- Design availability
- Flexibility
- Mobile-friendly
Cons
- Integrating social media was confusing. But called support and received help.

Weebly
Laura Motta-MEna
Very intuitive site, was able to put together my site in an afternoon. One thing I would like to have is more page styles to choose from. Squarespace I thought had more creative style designs, however it was not as intuitive as Weebly.
Pros
- Ease of use
Cons
- More styles

Nick Ashton-Jones
I searched for years to find a good website builder (google having let me down). Weebly was so easy to use and so professional-looking that I pressed ahead and have never regretted. Price is A1. When I moved to Africa I found that I was not allowed to sign in but very quickly Weebly engineered a special route for me. I have twice had “conversations” with helpers. Fantastic personal attention.
Pros
- Ease of use
- Professional appearance
- Good price
Cons
- I liked everything!

Weebly Review
Mike
Really satisfied with weebly. I used it for a bike rental shop. I Built it – with almost no experience – pretty good site. Good tutorials on youtube, a.o. regarding SEO. Only one con: to have the site in multiple languages, you can copy the site and translate the text – so that is easy – but you will have to pay the price of a new package for each language.
Pros
- Easy to use
- Good support
Cons
- Building a site in multiple languages costs more

Weebly Website Builder Easy To Use
Kevin Small
I made a simple educational website using the Weebly website builder. I was amazed by the simplicity and ease of use of this website builder. The pricing is fair and they offer SSL security unlike Wix which is my second favorite option. Also with weebly you can change themes at will.
Pros
- Ease of Use
- Price
- SSL Integration
Cons
- Not being fully able to move elements around

Weebly Makes Building a Website Easy
Steve
We are small, local hydraulic component distributor (only 4 full-time employees). Currently, our website is just for a web presence, giving our customers and prospects a general insight as to who we are, what we offer and how to reach us. Weebly allowed us to easily upgrade from a free, generic 3-page builder provided by our internet provider. It was very easy to add any kind of content we decided upon – unlimited pages and sub-pages, logo, photo slideshow, and a contact form. We intend to expand the site with the included online storefront. With the new mobile standards required by the search engines, Webbly makes it seamless to have a mobile-friendly site.
I did not spend much time trying other web builders beyond Weebly. I chose Weebly based upon reviews by this site and others. Comparing all of the features, it felt the best fit for our needs and gave us the best bang for our buck. I wanted to be able to quickly and easily create our site without going through a big learning curve. Weebly made it very easy. It was even recommended by a personal friend (who designs corporate websites for some well known national companies) as an alternate to paying a professional designer such as himself (we’re not to that level yet)!
Outside of the initial questioning of the Weebly staff regarding pricing, features, domain transition, etc., I’ve had little contact with them. However, that contact and a couple minor support questions were answered promptly and with sincere care to my issues. Emails were answered promptly and in a friendly manner. They even allowed me to change my plan after the fact when I found a discount code I could have used to get a better rate.
On a negative side, it would be nice if Weebly offered built-in business email accounts. This is only a minor issue though, as we have our own domain email that we can set up to work with Weebly.
Pros
- Very easy to use after getting a feel for the tools.
- Abundance of templates, layout tools & styles
- Easy to add additional (unlimited) pages & content
- Mobile ready design & mobile prview
- Very reasonably priced
Cons
- Unable to add H1 title tags
- No built-in business email
- Unable to customize URLs

Weebly
Debbie Paulson
I would like to reassure anyone seeking an e-commerce website builder that my experience with Weebly was great. I did a lot of comparison shopping for which builder to go with based on pricing, ease of use & support.
With my business, Acapulco Coffee Roasters, I go in all the time to make changes or adjustments & I have to tell you the site flows so easy from the backend. I like how I can keep track of my inventory, add SKU’s, & get an email automatically when someone places an order. Check out Weebly or my site, we’ve added quite a few pages and I have nothing negative to say.
Pros
- Pricing
- Easy of use
Cons
- Nothing negative to say.

Steps
Jo Records
A website featuring my pine needle coiled creations, i.e. baskets, trays, wall decor. Hoped to promote the revival of an artform, as well as, establish sales of my own products. Perhaps, if there had been better response or even 1 comment, I would have purchased a domain and set up a storefront.
Pros
- To begin, they were very responsive to customer support answering questions promptly and personally with a service representative.
- They are working with a novice (me) so that makes it difficult for them to translate directions.
Cons
- I became discouraged when not understanding specific icons and their function or they would nor the system did not respond as intended steps.

Weebly - a good way in for a novice
Debra Bradley
There is always some pain and frustration involved in learning a new system – and I did experience that when setting up my website. However, I still had a website in place within three hours, which is great.
I have seen other websites by Weebly which are much flasher, so I am obviously a real learner, and hope to access some more design features to improve my site in future.
Pros
- Ease of use
- Pricing
- Ability to change templates
Cons
- Lack of ability to add colour

Great Weebly sites
Jennifer Ellis
I built a knitting club website. I originally had a lot of trouble using the elements as I was not used to them, but Weebly has a lot of videos to help with the use of their elements; I was up and running in no time. I didn’t try other website builders.
As I have already stated, the customer support is really good. They didn’t seem to have a real solution to my problem as the customer support couldn’t duplicate the situation. I just work around the problem, and my whole sentences become links. As my site is for a small knitting club I do not worry about it. Probably if I had a paid website the features would be better. But I really love the way weebly has enabled me to put my site up. And I would recommend everyone to look at the help videos.
Comment from WebsiteToolTester:
This issue sounds very uncommon. We have found a video that explains how you can add links to your Weebly website.
Pros
- Ease of use
- Pricing
- Offers many features
- I think Weebly offers a wonderful service
Cons
- Link issues

Weebly is easy
K Hart
Weebly made it easy to test out their product and trial it for free. I did this with a couple others, but none were as easy to use as Weebly. If I got stuck on anything, I just checked the FAQs and my question was answered. I was looking for a simple website builder and I found it. I’ve recommended Weebly to a couple others who also found it simple to use. Great for a non-tech person who wants to control their own site.
Pros
- Ease of use
- Free trial
- FAQ
- Templates
Cons
- Nothing yet
